Grocery Gladiator 2 was my team's project for the Asset Management class in my Master's degree. I had six teammates on my team, and I assumed the role of a developer. While we worked off a Grocery Gladiator prototype done using Unity in a previous class, we decided to complete the 2nd version of this game using Unreal 4 in a 4-week timeframe. The prototype consisted of three polished levels with additional game mechanics implemented in this iteration. The Player controls the Shopper while looking around for the right ingredients on the shopping list. After the correct components are collected, the Player must run to the finish line by the cashier.
Fun with Animation & AI
Being a developer on this team, I was in charge of animating the enemy NPCs and creating distinct enemy AI for each NPC type. Sticking to the comical nature of the game, I chose funny models and animations that fit each level. I had lots of fun animating the characters and creating the enemy AI. Having fun developing this prototype made it much more enjoyable when my team presented our finished prototype.
